The collection includes printed books and journals, microfilm, mocrofiche, and CD's. It has 43,000 volumes, including 6,000 family genealogies and 350 census indexes. The North San Diego County Genealogical Society supports the Genealogy and Local History Collection.

(Orange County California Genealogical Society.) The collection also includes 300 family histories, immigration book sets, atlases, surname card files, NEHGS Register 1847-1977 on microfilm, and over 250 periodicals. This is a good place to start if you like books.

It numbers more than 40,000 volumes, including more than 10,000 genealogies. Due to the age of this collection, they have many old books now out-of-print.
